Introduction to the Golang (GO) language using practical coding challenges and a simple project.

This workshop will cover

  • Idiomatic Go, how it differs from other languages
  • Language features such as data structures, concurrency and pointers
  • Building out a RESTful API using the GO standard library

Participants will leave with answers to the following questions

  • What is it, and when should I use it?
Gain an understanding of how the language works, and the problems it can be applied to.
  • How do I use it?
Start writing idiomatic Go to ensure you get the most out of the language.
  • What do I do next?
Leave with a working RESTful API that you can keep iterating on, and a good view on how to solve problems using Go.
